Sustainable Travel

How easy your journey is to The Potteries Shopping Centre, is important to us.

Please download our Public Transport Guide.

As part of one of the UK’s largest companies, we have a responsibility to manage and minimise our impact on the environment.

Travel Plan:
We have drawn up a travel plan for The Potteries Shopping Centre. It consists of a package of measures timed at reducing single occupancy car use among staff, retailers and shoppers, through better provision of public transport. It also provides information on the various travel options available.

The overall objective of the travel plan is to ensure that staff and shoppers use more sustainable forms of transport, where possible, instead of single occupancy car travel. This will help to minimise our impact on the environment.

The plan also includes:
- Making sure that on-site facilities are provided to encourage sustainable travel.
- Providing travel information to all users of The Potteries Shopping Centre to enable them to make an informed choice of how they travel to the centre.
- Establishing and developing partnerships with the local authority, transport operators, businesses in the Stoke-on-Trent area in promoting sustainable travel.

Benefits:
- Increased travel choice - a wider range of travel options, savings and benefits which will enhance the recruitment and retention of staff working at The Potteries Shopping Centre as well as providing easier access for a greater number of visitors.
- Health benefits - many alternative forms of travel include an element of exercise that will lead to a healthier workforce, possibly leading to reduced rates of illness and a reduction in health related absences.
